In present Mexico, the belief around death is a mixture of pre-Hispanic traditions melted with those brought by the Spaniards upon their arrival to the American continent.

It is believed that the deceased come back to this world on the 1st and 2nd of November to visit their beloved ones, who in return, build-up an altar to honor and offer them their favorite dishes and beverages.

On this occasion, the Embassy of Mexico is pleased to invite you to the traditional Day of the Dead Offering as well as to the photo exhibition "La belleza de la muerte" / "The Beauty of Death" with works by the painter of Oaxaca Gonzalo Montellano. The altar will be raised in honour of the victims of the earthquakes in Mexico In the presence of the band "Trío orgánico".
