GERMAN LITERATURE OF THE WEIMAR REPUBLIC (EN) with writer Thomas Lehr, Arne De Winde and Volkmar Mühleis
Thomas Lehr - winner of the Bremer Literaturpreis this year - is contemplating in his recent novel Schlafende Sonne ('Sleeping Sun') the 20th century in Germany, from World War I onwards. Arne De Winde and Volkmar Mühleis will discuss with Lehr German literature of the Weimar Republic and his views as a contemporary novelist on this heritage.
Thomas Lehr, born in 1957 in Speyer, lives in Berlin. He has been awarded many prizes for his work. His most recent titles include Nabokovs Katze (novel, 1999), Frühling (novella, 2001), and the novel 42, which was shortlisted for the 2005 German Book Prize.
