On 14 and 15 September 2019, the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium will participate in the “Heritage Days” in the Brussels Capital Region. The artists' workshops will be particularly highlighted during this edition which has as its theme "A place for art".  This is why, exceptionally, the Wiertz Museum and the Meunier Museum will be accessible throughout the weekend.

Antoine Wiertz (1806-1865), painter, sculptor and rebel letterman, drew himself this singular place which hosts his compositions. Restored a few years ago, the Wiertz Museum – at the house-workshop of the artist – will immerse you in the authentic atmosphere of an exceptional artist's workplace.

The 2019 “Heritage Days” will also be an opportunity to (re)discover the Meunier Museum, designed by the architect Ernest Delune and housing more than 700 works. The house-workshop of the painter, sculptor and draughtsman Constantin Meunier traces the evolution of the master between 1875 and 1905. His works had a profound impact on his time and influenced the greatest artists, including Rodin and Van Gogh.

At Mont des Arts, the public will also marvel at the monumental RMFAB entrance hall ("Forum") designed by Alphonse Balat, as well as the sumptuous Art Nouveau style "Gresham" entrance.
