A WAY 2 SESSY (EN) by Camille Da Silva

Choreographic performance

A WAY 2 SESSY is an immersive choreographic performance that takes the form of a walking parcours through different spaces of the museum, in dialogue with the exhibition Art x Gender. It combines contemporary dance, pole dance, and costume transformation, in direct interaction with both the audience and the architecture.

On the occasion of the finissage of Art x Gender, the RMFAB invite Camille Da Silva to activate the museum spaces through a performative parcours made of several choreographic capsules. These short performances unfold at different points along the exhibition route. Her work explores the transformation of body and costume, and the relationship with the environment and the audience. Moving between revelation and concealment, control and vulnerability, the performance engages with questions of gender, the gaze, and the body. It also reworks stereotypes linked to hyper-femininity to reveal their complexity and ambivalence.

Camille Da Silva is a Brussels-based dancer, performer, and choreographer. She trained in Rennes, Roubaix, Lisbon, and at Charleroi danse, and graduated from ULB with  a Master’s degree in Gender and Sexuality. Her work sits at the intersection of contemporary dance, cabaret, pole dance, and performance.

She explores themes of eroticism, gender, and bodily transformation, collaborating with artists across disciplines. She performs in both theatre contexts and queer or alternative spaces.

In 2023, she created her first solo, "a way 2 sessy", which examines female identities through pop culture and cabaret. She also teaches dance and yoga in Brussels.
