non-guided GROups & Permits to speak

To ensure the best possible reception, we insist on the requirement to book your group tours in advance, even when visiting without guide, via the booking form below.

External guides, group supervisors or teachers who wish to guide in the RMFAB, should apply for a permit to speak

  • Fee: €25 per speaker and per group (max 20 persons; to be paid before the visit)
  • Request written obligated through the reservation service (
  • Minimum two week in advance
  • Please mention the context of the visit, the time, the Museum and the specific rooms
  • Only in the Old Masters Museum (& Bruegel room), the Fin-de-siècle Museum, the Wiertz Museum and the Meunier Museum
  • We do not allow self-guided tours in the Magritte Museum or temporary exhibitions.
  • Permits are subject to availability and to the number of visitors in the rooms.
  • Exception:  Belgian schools teachers
    Please submit a justified request accompanied by a copy of their teacher’s card.

Our reservation service can be reached by telephone, from Tuesday to Friday from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm.

We check each request with the utmost care.
We would like to inform you that, depending on the available time periods and/or guides, we can or cannot accept / approve your request.


Guided tours are available in following languages:
English, Dutch, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Japanese and Greek.
