Jan Fabre Chapters I-XVIII. Waxes & Bronzes

Focus exhibition

>

Just like former exhibitions the works of the internationally reputed visual artist and theatre maker Jan Fabre (°1958) have been integrated in the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, more specifically in the circuit through the rooms devoted to the Old Masters.

The artist has stage-managed a classic sculptures gallery with a serial presentation of 36 contemporary busts in traditional wax and bronze, all fascinating heads with animal horns and ears. Hence, Fabre is investigating the possible significances of the self-portrait.
