A gigantic 5-metres high bow points towards a 4-metres diameter breast-target, evoking the metaphor of the fight against the disease. Beyond its cathartic vocation, the installation, made of wood, feathers and brass, also represents procreation, the target acting as an ovum ready to be fertilised by the arrow shot from the bow. L'Amazone Érogène (Arc) thus highlights the tension between gentleness, hope and violence, and gives a personal experience a truly universal resonance.

In addition to the magnificent installation in the Forum, Prune Nourry will take over room 54 to present a selection of works that reveal the extent of her talent.

Prune Nourry specialises in sculpture, but also explores a multitude of media such as photography, video and performance. Her cancer diagnosis and mastectomy at the age of 31 inspired the introspective documentary Serendipity. She is working on issues ranging from bioethics to women's rights and gender, and emphasises the relationship between art and science in her work. Nourry usually collaborates with anthropologists and geneticists to feed her artistic practice.

The French artist trained in wood sculpture at the École Boulle in Paris. She lives and works between Paris and Brooklyn, New York, since 2011.
