Phishing Attempt in the Name of the Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium
The Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium wish to inform the public that a fraudulent email campaign is currently circulating, impersonating the museum’s name and identity to offer supposed “exhibition opportunities.”
These messages, sent from email addresses that do not belong to our institution, promise an exhibition within the museum, substantial payment, and full logistical support. They then request personal documents (ID copy, photos, private contact details) and demand payment of alleged “registration fees” or “file opening fees.”
These solicitations are entirely false.
Any authentic communication from the RMFAB comes exclusively from institutional email addresses ending in @fine-arts-museum.be or belonging to the museum’s official domains.
We urge anyone who has received such a message not to reply, not to make any payment, not to share any personal information, and to report the email immediately through our official contact form.
The museum takes the protection of the public and artists very seriously. We thank everyone for their vigilance and remind you that all official procedures and calls for projects are announced exclusively through our institutional channels.
