Heatwave : protect yourself from the heat
Published on 01.07.2026
During periods of extreme heat, federal museums are stepping up to provide accessible “cool zones” for everyone.
Amid heatwave alerts, the atriums, forums and reception areas of federal museums will now serve as designated cooling zones. In addition to the free admission already granted to several groups, access to permanent collections will also be free for job seekers and integration income beneficiaries. Young people under 18, as well as people with disabilities and their accompanying person, already benefit from free entry. Visitors aged 65 and over will continue to enjoy reduced rates.
When do we consider it a heatwave? We rely on the RMI warning system. We will put these measures in place as soon as yellow code is issued.
See you soon in our museums!
