More than 1 million visitors in the RMFAB in 2019

The Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium (RMFAB) received 1,091,280 visitors in 2019, a historical record. It is the very first time in almost 220 years - since the founding of the museum by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1801 - that such an impressive figure was recorded.

This exceptional success is due to the renewed presentation of the collections (Bruegel, Dutch School, Magritte Museum). These projects were being put in the spotlight in 2019, thanks in part to Brussels' growing reputation as a tourist attraction.

It is also the result of the unique temporary exhibitions Wim Delvoye and Dalí & Magritte, as well as the wide range of activities.
